a reasonable fee estimate. Furloughed & Probationary Pilots Receive a Substantial Discount Since 9/11 times have proved to be challenging for everyone connected to the aviation industry. I know many of you have been directly impacted from the massive airline bankruptcies, cutbacks, and subsequent furloughs. If not on furlough, many pilots, flight attendants and other aviation professionals have been displaced to different aircraft, a new crew base, or watched their upgrade plans vanish indefinitely with the onslaught of bankruptcies. Unfortunately, the changes keep coming. In light of these circumstances, I am offering a special discount to anyone furloughed or on probation from a US based regional, national or major airline. If you are on furlough or probation status as of January 1, 2008, you will receive a 15% discount off my normal billing rate. This discount applies to the 2007 federal (and state, if applicable) individual income tax return for the furloughed or probationary crewmember and spouse. When sending your completed tax organizer, please include a copy of your furlough notice or indicate furloughed or probationary on the top of the organizer along with your date of hire and date of furlough.
